SignElectronically is best for a brokerage wanting one signing plan with seats included, DocuSign suits agents who depend on supported association forms, and dotloop suits offices needing transaction management alongside signing. For a US broker-owner or team lead managing 3 to 25 agents, the deciding question is whether you need signatures on prepared documents or a system that also manages the transaction. Compare the office bill and the work each tool actually replaces before switching.
We sell SignElectronically, so this comparison includes our own product. Competitor figures are list price, October 2026, check the vendor's page before purchasing. dotloop sources conflict, so its individual prices below are approximate. Annual figures are monthly equivalents of annual billing, not monthly payment options.
Which e-signature software is best for real estate agents?
SignElectronically is best for real estate agents who already have their forms and want an office signing plan with included seats. DocuSign is the better fit when its supported zipForm Plus integration matters, while dotloop is better when loops, compliance review and transaction management are central to the brokerage.
The best esignature solutions for real estate agents depend on the missing part of the workflow. A signing subscription can replace another signing subscription. It cannot automatically replace your association forms source, transaction coordinator or compliance process. Our real estate signing workflow describes the prepared-document approach.
Cost for a brokerage of 3, 10 and 25 agents
Assume every agent needs a sender seat in one office account. Each cell shows the monthly equivalent on annual billing first, then the month to month total. Quotes stay quotes. These totals compare subscription costs, not identical document allowances or feature packages.
| Plan | 3 agents | 10 agents | 25 agents |
|---|---|---|---|
| SignElectronically Starter, Plus, Pro respectively | $24 / $49 | $74 / $149 | $249 / $499 |
| DocuSign Real Estate | $75 / see vendor | Quote | Quote |
| DocuSign REALTORS for eligible NAR members | $60 / see vendor | Quote | Quote |
| dotloop Teams or Business+ | Quote | Quote | Quote |
| Dropbox Sign Standard | $52.50 / $75 | $175 / $250 | $437.50 / $625 |
| PandaDoc Starter | $57 / $105 | $190 / $350 | $475 / $875 |
| PandaDoc Business | $147 / $195 | $490 / $650 | $1,225 / $1,625 |
| SignWell Business | $30 / $36 | $114 / $141 | $294 / $366 |
Dropbox Sign and PandaDoc totals multiply the stated per user price by agent count. SignWell includes three senders, then adds $12 per extra sender on annual billing or $15 monthly. At ten senders that is $30 plus seven times $12, or $114. DocuSign's listed real estate team range is 1 to 5 users, so larger offices need quotes rather than an extrapolated total.
SignElectronically includes 3 seats and 50 envelopes a month on Starter, 10 seats and 500 envelopes on Plus, or 25 seats and 2,000 envelopes on Pro. Prices are $49, $149 and $499 monthly, or $24, $74 and $249 per month billed annually. Seats are included, not charged per agent. Confirm the allowance against your office's actual sending volume on our plans and envelope allowances page.
SignWell costs less than SignElectronically at these headcounts on monthly billing. On annual billing, SignElectronically has the lower listed total in this table. That arithmetic alone does not settle the purchase if a forms integration or transaction review system saves your staff work.
Features that change the buying decision
| Feature | SignElectronically | What to compare elsewhere |
|---|---|---|
| State forms integration | No zipForm or MLS forms library | DocuSign REALTORS includes zipForm Plus integration, not in all states |
| Transaction management | No transaction management | dotloop combines loops, compliance review and transaction management |
| Per agent pricing | Seats included in the office plan | DocuSign, Dropbox Sign and PandaDoc use per user prices; SignWell charges for extra senders |
| Bulk send | Plus and Pro | Confirm availability and limits on the specific competing plan |
| SMS and mobile signing | Browser signing; SMS codes on Plus and Pro | Test phone usability separately from SMS delivery or identity codes |
| Audit trail | Audit certificate on every paid plan | Check the completion evidence and export process before buying |
SMS codes are an identity check, not notarization. A mobile signing screen also says nothing about whether a product supplies approved state forms. Keep those requirements separate when comparing real estate agent digital signature software.
Best e-signature tools for real estate agents by office need
SignElectronically is best for a whole office on one plan
Choose our electronic signature software when agents bring prepared listing agreements, offers and disclosures and the office wants included seats. Plus adds shared templates, bulk send, SMS codes and webhooks; Pro adds the API. The gaps matter. We have no zipForm or MLS forms library, transaction management, Lone Wolf or kvCORE connector, or notary and remote online notarization service.
DocuSign is best for agents who rely on zipForm
Real Estate Starter is $10 a month for one user and five envelopes a month. Real Estate is $25 per user per month billed annually, or $300 a year, for 1 to 5 users with 100 envelopes per user per year. The REALTORS plan is $20 per user per month billed annually for NAR members and includes zipForm Plus integration, with state availability limits. Larger teams get quotes. Our DocuSign pricing breakdown adds general plan context.
dotloop is best for transaction management
dotloop, part of Zillow, combines signing with loops, compliance review and transaction management. Premium for one agent is approximately $31.99 a month on monthly billing or $26 per month billed annually. Sources conflict, so confirm the current offer. Teams and Business+ require quotes. It is a stronger candidate when replacing it would leave your broker without the review workflow the office uses.
Dropbox Sign is best for two or three agents who want a simple app
Dropbox Sign is worth comparing when you prefer per user pricing and do not need the signing purchase to provide transaction management. Essentials is $15 a month for one user. Standard is $25 per user monthly or $17.50 on annual billing, with a two user minimum. Our Dropbox Sign team cost guide explains the pricing model.
PandaDoc is best for offices that also build proposals
PandaDoc belongs on the shortlist when the office also sends designed proposals or marketing packets, since it is a document builder first and a signing tool second. Starter is $19 per seat per month billed annually or $35 monthly. Business is $49 annually or $65 monthly. Choose based on the required plan features, not the entry price alone. See our PandaDoc pricing comparison.
SignWell is best for a few senders on monthly billing
SignWell Light costs $10 per month on annual billing or $12 monthly and includes one sender. Business costs $30 or $36 respectively with three senders. Additional Business senders cost $12 annually or $15 monthly. It is cheaper than our corresponding plans on monthly billing at the headcounts shown. Our SignWell sender cost breakdown explains the base plus extra sender calculation.
Choosing electronic signature software for real estate
Evaluate real estate contract signing software with the documents your office actually sends. Ask an agent and a transaction coordinator to walk through preparation, signing and filing. These checks reveal whether a lower subscription bill creates extra administrative work.
- Mobile signing for buyers. Open the invitation on a phone, read the disclosures and complete every required field. Check whether names, dates and signing controls remain readable.
- Initials on every page. Where your approved form requires initials, verify placement page by page and assignment to the correct signer. Do not assume a final signature satisfies each initial field.
- Multiple signers on one lease or offer. Assign fields to each buyer, seller or tenant. Check parallel or sequential signing against the agreement's actual approval process.
- Templates for listing agreements and disclosures. Start with approved documents, assign roles and inspect dates and property details before reuse. A reusable template does not supply updated association forms.
- Audit certificate. Download the completed document and its signing evidence. Confirm that your filing process keeps them together and staff can retrieve them later.
For repeated packets, examine bulk sending with separate recipient envelopes. If your agents also handle rentals, compare the property management signing workflow and our software comparison for property managers.
An agent's own listing website may use an AI website builder to capture leads who then need a signed buyer agreement. Keep that handoff in your evaluation. SignElectronically offers webhooks on Plus and an API on Pro, but a custom connection needs implementation and does not mean a ready-made CRM connector exists.
When dotloop or DocuSign is the better choice
Stay with DocuSign when your agents rely on its supported zipForm or state association forms workflow and replacing it would require manual preparation. Check your state specifically. Choose dotloop when transaction compliance review and loops are essential to the broker's oversight. Signing alone does not replace those functions.
Before switching, retain completed documents and audit records, identify where approved forms come from and decide who owns compliance review. Test your usual packet before moving active work. Deeds for recording and notarized documents may need wet ink or a notary. SignElectronically does not provide notarization or remote online notarization.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best electronic signature for real estate?
The best electronic signature for real estate depends on whether you need signing alone, supported forms integration or transaction management. SignElectronically fits offices wanting included seats, DocuSign suits supported association forms workflows, and dotloop suits transaction review. Compare the complete office cost and test your actual agreement packet before choosing.
Is DocuSign free for realtors?
DocuSign's listed real estate subscriptions are paid. Real Estate Starter costs $10 a month for one user and five envelopes monthly. The REALTORS plan costs $20 per user per month billed annually for NAR members. Membership eligibility and zipForm Plus availability need checking, including whether the integration covers your state.
Do real estate agents need DocuSign?
Real estate agents do not need DocuSign specifically to use electronic signatures on ordinary contracts. The right tool depends on approved forms, signing requirements and record retention. Keep DocuSign when its supported forms workflow matters to your office; compare alternatives when your brokerage already prepares documents elsewhere and mainly needs signing.
Are e-signatures legal for real estate contracts?
Electronic signatures are generally enforceable for US real estate contracts under ESIGN and state UETA. The document and local requirements still matter. Deeds for recording and notarized documents may need wet ink or a notary. SignElectronically provides no notary or remote online notarization service. This is general information, not legal advice.
How much does DocuSign cost for real estate agents?
DocuSign Real Estate costs $25 per user per month billed annually, or $300 yearly, for 1 to 5 users with 100 envelopes per user per year. Real Estate Starter is $10 monthly. Eligible NAR members pay $20 per user monthly on annual billing for REALTORS. Larger teams receive quotes.
Inspection companies that work with your agents face the same paperwork, see electronic signature for home inspectors.
